300 Years after the second apocalypse...

 In the Egyptian Dome of the Lunar Resort....

 You’ve just seen strange crystal ships in space battling silver ships your elders said were driven by the gods Ra and Ptah. You then look at the Earth and become sad once more. “How long as the Earth been like that.”
“Clerics of Thoth say Earth Prime has been in ruins for over three hundred years. Those same crystal ships came, sent by the evil ones to destroy all of mankind. The gods didn’t let that happen.”

 From the Egyptian Dome, on the moon, young warriors noted the terrible band of volcanoes circling the center of the Earth. They wondered at the huge forests at the south pole of the Earth. The mountains at the north pole looked unearthly. The characters couldn’t help wondering what secrets were to be found there.

 The Basic Set of Apocalyptic Space presents a series of adventures where the characters learn about the game system and how to play. Nothing is what it seems as new characters actually believe they are living along the Nile and the gods of the Egyptians are very real and talk to their worshipers from the temples in the City of Thebes.

 Apocalyptic Space is designed for exploration by a group of characters who grow in experience and power as they accomplish quests. There are 77 different worlds to be explored and possibly saved as you must solve an age-old mystery of why the aliens attacked and can they be stopped from attacking again. The Basic Set provides hours and hours of fun as the Game Master and the players learn what it’s like to explore apocalyptic space.

Why play on the Blasted Earth?

 When I wrote the first science fiction role-playing game in Metamorphosis Alpha in the early ‘70s and the first apocalypse role-playing game in Gamma World later in the ‘70s the art of role-playing design was in its infancy at that time. In this day and age experienced consumers expect a great deal more in their games and I believe the Blasted Earth of the Lost 77 Worlds fits that desire handily.

 The detailed environment of the Blasted Earth provides unique challenges for the gamer. 315 years ago the Earth was laid waste by alien armadas. The back story hints at many interesting things to explore on that Blasted Earth. Now there are three basic environments: deserts, ancient forests, and volcanic lands. These lands have a whole new ecology of creatures and dangers to deal with and survive. Everywhere in those lands is the lost technology of mankind under collapsed walls and in hidden labs.

 The back story also supports lots of interesting quests for the player. Questions that the players need to answer include: What is left of man’s technology on the Blasted Earth? What is the condition of the rest of the solar systems? Is there anything left on the 76 other worlds man settled hundreds of years ago? Are those aliens going to return and finish the job? There are lots of planned products for the Blasted Earth. In the 2017 twelve month program of adventures the Earth is searched for ancient technology that allows the characters to reach the stars again.

 There is also the novelty of a completely new role-playing game system to use. The Blasted Earth doesn’t use dice in its gaming system. Instead, each player gets their own deck of playing cards. In this system, red cards are beneficial to the player. Black cards provide difficult challenges depending on the value of the card. A Two of spades or clubs is not much of a problem for the player. However, Aces of spades and clubs present calamities that must be worked around. It’s all part of a fun new gaming system that adapts to the powers and abilities of the characters as they grow in the game. Robots mix with mutants and androids as characters survive the many dangers of the Blasted Earth.

 Then there is the exploration of the world. The planet teemed with cities that were blasted long ago. What can be found in those ruins? Robot groups are growing and thriving in the forests and deserts of the world; what is their agenda? Android creations are making themselves known and they are looking for something of importance to them. The 77 Worlds basic boxed set allows for visits from the Lunar Resort where humans are looking for rare earth metals to take back to the resort for some strange reason. Ruined alien spaceship can be found all over the Earth and need to be explored for their secrets. Mutant enclaves can be found in every environment and they have their own agendas and are impacting the Blasted Earth.

 There have been some questions about the various books. I am in the process of producing a new PDF and hopefully video to walk through this. For now, let me lay this out here. The Lost 77 Worlds RPG was released in 2015 with a Lunar Resort campaign setting. We did this as a basic boxes set in the style of the early D&D basic set. The set contained the AS1 Core Rule Book and the AS2 Lunar Resort Adventure book. These books detailed the core rules, the ward card system, and the three resort domes on the moon. Over the last two year's we have released several adventures and anthologies which expanded the game a good bit. We have developed the Blasted Earth setting to details the Ultimate Apocalyptic Planet. This new campaign/adventure setting is detailed in the forth coming AS3 Earth Prime "The Blasted Earth" book which will be produced as both softback and hardback editions. All editions will have the same content.

 Now AS3 contains everything you need to run a game on the Blasted Earth. It contains expanded rules, mutants, Encounters, Aliens, and many terrain types across the planet. We have 12 adventures coming out this year to support the game. When using the AS3 book you can bring characters from the basic game down from Luna in which case you should have the basic set or a copy of AS1 or you can start players in the post apocalyptic environment on the earth where they can play many different character types native to the planet. In the Lunar Resort setting you can only play pure strain humans.


AS1 The Core rule book for the 77 Worlds RPG included in the Basic set or sold as a seperate book

AS2 The Lunar Resort adventure book. This is only needed if your running adventures in the lunar resort and it was included in the basic boxed set and is sold separately as well. This books contains major personalities and encounters for use within the resort.

AS3 Earth Prime "The Blasted Earth" contains an expanded ruleset which addresses mutations, playing mutant creatures, and many others  rule's needed to run a game on the Blasted Earth. The expanded rules are about twice the size of the basic rule book with some overlap. As3 also details many encounters and the campaign setting of the Blasted Earth. You can find 30 more encounters for your use in the "Doom of the blasted earth" adventure which is designed to transition characters from Luna to the Earth. We are also producing an Encounter Encyclopedia which contains hundreds of encounters, monsters, aliens, mutants, androids, robotic constructs, etc. for use in on luna, the blasted earth, or the forth coming mars and jupiter ship yard settings.
