A long range transport ship with habitation dome.

A fifty-mile-wide domed habitation pod that is attached to a ship that is used to transport livestock and people to and from one of the 77 worlds. Is attacked and now adrift in deep space. The people aboard must make the best of life in the dome. Thet must also try to restart the NavComputer(TM) and get back to Earth!

This sounds like it wouldn't be hard to write up. There's also a lot of inspirational material available for this. This would be a fun adventure to play. I highly recommend the StarLost graphic novel, Phoenix Without Ashes, by Harlan Ellison (spelling?).

I have to agree. The Starlost Graphic novel is quite good and some of those domes were much like this long range transport ship.

Long range transports along with other ships caught between the worlds during the war can make for great adventure. Even if they can repair the ship, where would they take it? to a ravaged colony world? to the blasted earth? or to the frontier in search of a new home?
