77 Worlds Alternate Settings & Rules
Hi All!
I don't have the rules yet and haven't sat down to play a game yet. That is to happen in the near future.
However, I am curious about the rules and the setting. How closely are the rules tied to the setting?
I have a setting of my own revolving around a graveyard of ships, "The Sargasso", could I use the rules to play a variant such as "77 Lost Spacecraft"?
Thanks very much,
Craig J. Brain

The rules system presented in the basic set does not include spacecraft combat rules. However, if its adventures within the ruined spacecraft then the rules should work. Most of the hi-tech, bio-mutations, and spacecraft rules will be in AS3 The Blasted Earth and AS4.
The basic rules show character creation and present nine character. The Ward Card System for random number generation and event determination. WCS replaces traditional dice in the game. Of course we cover combat but the details are focused on the environments of the three lunar resorts. I will be posting tables for more advanced weapons (beyond the alien tech in the resort) prior to the release of AS3. I believe there are enough exambles in the basic set for the game master to expand on the weapons and technical items.
We cover the history in brief of the Sol System and touch on the 76 other worlds. There are a fair number of creatures and aliens detailed in the book which we will be expanding in the Encounter Encyclopedia.
Certainly it would be easy to create alternate Resorts (mentioned in other threads here and on our FB page) as well as star ships or planetary settings. The rules expansion in AS3 due out in a few months will be helpful in this regard as it introduced both expanded technology and new character types found only out side the Lunar Resort.
Naturally, you can always ask questions here which is the official site, our FB page, or on the 77 worlds forum at

I am pushing the newsletter project to add encounters, devices, rules clarification, and so forth on a quarterly basis. We hope to ship the first issue in February.
A graveyard of ships sounds a lot like the Jupiter Station setting we will be releasing later next year. There is a lot of fun that can be had playing in and among a number of human and alien ships drifting in space. Keep us updated on your setting it sounds exciting.

I expect to upload a new PDF of Sci-Fi equipment to be used with the 77 Worlds in April and an initial ship list for use in the up coming Surface adventure and the forth coming Blasted Earth (The Ultimate Apocalyptic Planet) hardback book.
