There are five temples in the city of Thebes,
dedicated to Sebek, Thoth, Set, Ptah, and Amen-
Ra. These present a series of tougher and tougher
quests. Other quests unrelated to the temples
can also be found in and around the city.
Quests for the Temple of Sebek
1. Hippopotamus Hunt

Clerical Assignment:
The cleric Nakhti-Sebek
asks the characters to go on a hippo hunt to feed
the festival tomorrow. All they need to do is leave
the city, travel a mile or two north along the Nile,
kill a hippo, and bring it back.

Setting:
Along the Nile River are groups of hippos.
The characters find a group of three. If they only
attack one, the other two swim away. If they
foolishly attack more than one, all three of the
beasts attack. If the characters didn’t organize a
wagon for the heavy load, the gate guards laugh
at them before suggesting the idea.
Useful Treasure:
The hide of the hippo is useful
for making shields. If the characters think of it,
they can use the hide to make large shields with
protection -6.
