When characters arrive in the Chicago dome, they

step into the glamorous, dangerous years of the

Roaring ‘20s. Just as tradition holds all newcomers

to the Camelot dome must be traveling knights

(sometimes with strange clothing and customs),

all newcomers to Chicago are quickly accepted

into the criminal underworld. Within their first

24 hours—assuming they don’t go into hiding—

characters will be approached by members of

several different gangswithoffers ofmembership.

You can give your gangs whatever colorful names

you prefer. A few to get you started are the

Uptown Gang, the West Side Crew, the Southside

Syndicate, and the Scarlet Ring. Characters could

even try to start their own gang if they prefer, but

they’ll be outgunned by the more established

gangs until they build up strength.

It’s also possible for characters to take other

jobs in Chicago as FBI agents, private detectives,

newspaper reporters, or police detectives. Many

of the quests included here can work equally

well for any of these characters with minimal

alteration. Where quests obviously involve

committing crimes, law-enforcement characters

could be tipped off by informants from a rival

gang that a crime is about to occur.

The most feared and hated gang in Chicago is

the one controlled by the aliens. If characters

haven’t yet learned the secret of the aliens (that

three alien species invaded the domes hundreds

of years ago, one in each dome), they should

understand that shortly after coming to Chicago,

where the aliens are less likely to be accepted

as just more monsters. Everyone in Chicago has

heard tales about the strange, gray men dressed

in black, but most people have never seen one—

at least not that they can be sure about.
